If you are one of the quarter of the populace gifted with the superpower of tasting just how foul and soap/feces-like Cilantro tastes, then WHY are you using the stuff? It certainly doesn't matter to me whether you use cilantro or a little bit of parsley or watercress instead.

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this, but I hope it is. Every time I see an English-language recipe, it always specifies kosher salt. Why? Is there any reason. Any. For a gentile to use kosher salt over regular sea salt or Himalaya salt?

Don't forget to wrap your burrito in foil immediately after you take it off the skillet. It's a crucial step. It steams the tortilla and makes it softer and less likely to break as well. Game changer for homemade burritos.

I'm not sure I knew this was a known thing in California...there's a restaurant down here in Southwestern Oklahoma called "Cali Burrito" that serves these, and I kinda thought it was unique...turns out we're just catching up to what Californians have known for years I guess lol

my favorite fry-making method is just using the air-frier the whole time because they’re delicious and it takes 15 minutes. plus then you can spend their cooking time making whatever else you’re eating and one part of the meal doesn’t take 7 steps.:)

Babish I gotta ask - I've been watching your videos for years and in the intro music... right during the transition between chopping the parsley and bread cutting, the audio blips for a second as the music gets fuller and fuller. Is that intended, the short blip in audio? It sounds like its clipping and not just pausing and I catch it every single video so I just wanted to ask /edit it sounds like its missing a drum snare or something..

  • CaliMeatWagon

2 things. 1. I'm a California native, who lives on Mexican food. The meat in the burrito is cut waayyy to large, and thick. Carne Asada is thinly sliced, thinly cut steak. 2. That's now how you roll a burrito... The bottom half the sides needs to be folded over first, at an angle, making a blunt point facing you. Fold that point over the top, tucking it under your fillings. Fold the top half of the sides in the same manner as the bottom, at an angle, creating a blunt point, facing away from you. Then, you finish rolling. What you did broke my heart.

  • Edgar Diaz

The veggies need to be char’d more. Broil and then use a torch to char them as much as possible. Using chicken bouillon instead of salt is the secret to delicious salsas. Fries are way to big and need to be double fried for a crispier bite. The meat was also too big IMO. And the avocado needs to be mashed without the toppings because then your get mushy onions/tomato’s in the guac. I love babish but this whole video was hard to watch……pro tip, wrap your burritos in foil after preparing it so it sort of steams and softens the tortilla and melts everything inside…
